Last week saw the Aberdeen medics forgo the usual league duties for a weekend to welcome back old boys of the club in the hotly anticipated Student’s vs Doctor’s game.
One of the biggest games of the season and always a favourite for all involved, the students were eager to get the better of their former teammates, with doctors coming from all over the UK back to Aberdeen.

This year 17 doctors made the journey up with high expectations. Unfortunately the weather intervened, with freezing conditions all over Scotland, all games in Aberdeen were cancelled due to frozen pitches. Thankfully the Medics were able to use an indoor Astroturf pitch in the Aberdeen sports village to play out a match of touch rugby.

Ultimately the fitness of the students proved to be the clinching factor in winning the highly contested game which produced plenty of opportunities for poking fun at each other.

The boys quickly went home to get changed into their glad rags for the annual Drs Sports Ball put on by MedSoc afterwards. However the team still found time to sneak into the Illicit Still for some pints and hearty fayre whilst watching the rugby internationals before the ball started.
